The Social Justice Team invites you to nominate a nonprofit to be a future Share the Plate recipient. Recommendations will be accepted on a rolling basis. SJT will periodically review and select organizations for the months available.
There is a preference for organizations which a congregation member has some personal knowledge of, or experience with. SJT will seek to create a balance between the types of justice-based services selected. While SJT expects that most programs will be from the Capital District, especially our home city, Albany, statewide, national or international organizations could qualify, as will justice-focused UUA initiatives.
If you are interested in recommending an organization, please complete this form and submit. You will receive an automatic response, confirming that your form has been received. You will be notified in person when the organization has been selected, or if SJT believes the organization is not a good match for Share The Plate. We ask for your patience, as there could be multiple recommendations pending at any given time.
**Please do not make any promises to, or arrangements with, the organization you are recommending. SJT is responsible for working with Rev. Ann and the Religious Services Committee to coordinate Share-The-Plate. You will have an opportunity to be involved if your recommended organization is selected.
